A Drizzle Evening

It was a drizzle evening yesterday.

The only disadvantage of our apartment is the pathway between blocks and the carpark is not cover with roof.

I do not want to carry a sack of rice in my arms to walk back to our unit from the carpark. Therefore I put my little boy in his stroller instead and I gave him a small umbrella to hold on to avoid being sprinkle.

I am really glad to have my understandable boy. He totally understood what I told him and followed my instruction what I told him to do.

He understood what is raining about; He understood that he needs to hold an umbrella up still to avoid getting wet.

In fact, he likes to play with umbrella ^_^

So he was so happy holding the umbrealla all the way from carpark back to our block. Then, I help him to close the umbrella afer we are under the roof.

No worries for me if raining again I think. But.... What if heavy rain??? I think I will look for the way to solve the problem when it comes.

Our Conversation

This was our conversation this morning when we were still lazily laying on the bed.

My arms were rounded on my little boy, while my little boy was enjoying his baobao (aka bolster) and looking at ME ^_^

Psedornna: Do you want mommy to work?
Bryan: NO "shake his head STRONGLY"

Psedornna: Do you want mommy to stay at home with you?
Bryan: Yay.... "with a smile"

Psedornna: Do you want to go Auntie M's (aka baby sitter) house or stay at home with mommy?
Bryan: Err..... Err..... "quiet"

Independent?

This was what happened inside my car this morning! When I was fetching my little boy to baby sitter's house.
The brown colour bag on his lap belong to my boy, everyday I will put in his tumbler, baby bites biscuit, cheerios and the rubik inside the bag. In case he needs something to nibble while traffic jam.

This morning, this little boy told me wanna eat cheerios but I didn't take out for him as I was concentrated on driving. I just told him that "everything is inside your bag, if you really hungry, serve yourself."

First, my little boy lifted up the bag and put on his lap. (I put the bag beside the car seat, where the container was in the first photo.) Slowly, he unzip the zipper and he call out "wahhh..." Then I heard the sound "tuk! tuk! tuk!" then the crunchy sound of my boy biting the biscuit.

When I turned my head, that's what I saw! I quickly snap the photo using my mobile. This little boy was enjoying his biscuit, watching the scenery outside the car. The bag still on his lap, but the container was opened and the biscuits are all on my sofa. ~_~|||

After a while, I heard different sound coming from the back again "slurp.... slurp..." I turned and saw my boy was holding his tumbler and drinking water.

Ya. This is what I remind him everytime he finished a biscuit - "must drink a lot of water"

Some of my friends will say my little boy is so independent, I no need to worry about him at all, he will do all things by himself now.

But I am wondering... Is it consider independent? Hmm...... Anyway, the good of my boy is he seldom, ya... seldom fuss and throw tantrums. As long as we fulfill his need or just explain to him whatsoever we not allow him to do or play.

Hope he will behave himself all way long... As I am bit worry about the "terrible TWO" from what I heard from my friends. Just keep my finger crossed!

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...

You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again, whether you drink coffee or not.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying A word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl.

Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma the daughter then asked, "What does it mean, Mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its insides became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

May we all be COFFEE!!!!!!!!

My Favourite Movie

~Perhaps LOVE~

This is one of my favourite movie. Even though a few years back movie, I will watch again and again and I still can't stop myself crying when I saw the below part. It's a very touching movie. I LOVE the songs, the artist, the stage, their dance...... Everything!

Diaper OFF

One thing I really feel proud of my boy is he is successfully diaper off on his 20 months. Maybe I should say about 18 months.

My boy started to potty train when he starts to walk on his 13 months, and succesfully diaper off on day time on the 14th months. Anyone who met up with my boy felt so surprise of him, who can tell whenever he wanna go toilet on his 14th months.

At night, I insist to put on cloth diaper for him in order for him to sleep longer time. Normally, he will sleep from 930pm to 8am, without awaken at night. So I felt it's okay for him to wee in the diaper.

Slowly, we felt the cloth diaper is totally DRY when he awaken in the morning. Straight away, he will rush to toilet to weeeeeeeee, and it A LOT!

I am kinda lazy mom, lazy to clean especially! I will totally confirm that there will be no accident only I take off the diaper from my boy.

On my boy 20th months, I dare to try! I dare to put on his pajamas only, without the cloth diaper. YES! I really felt proud of my boy and he didn't disappointed me at all!

I can proudly announce that my boy is DIAPER OFF now!

He KNEW the spelling

When I start to teach my little boy the alphabet on his 18th months, I teach him the spelling as well. Out of my surprise, he can pick up so fast. Not only can recognize all the alphabet now, but knew / understand the word, if I merely spell the alphabet to him.

For instance, I say: "C-O-W" my little boy will either speak or show his hand sign to show it's a COW. I am so glad that he learn new thing quite fast, is it because of my breastmilk? Hehehe...

My little boy is 19 months + 2 weeks now and he know the following spelling;
ANT, BOOK, BALL, BOX, BUS, CAR, CAT, COW, DOG, FISH, HAT, EGG, GATE, STAR

That's all I can recall. ^_^

Maybe it look simple to us, but as his mother, I feel so happy with this.

19th months

Just a quick summary of my little boy on his 19 months now......

Physically, he is weight 10.3kg & height 81cm.

Teeth - My little boy has 8 teeth in total now; 4 central incisors, 2 upper lateral incisors & 2 first molar on the left. Been consulted Dentist on his teeth growth development, as he is quite slow compare to other toddlers who are same age as him. Luckily, its normal, just beware of his weight, as the numbers of teeth will affect the food he eats. I'm glad he likes to eat and know well to chew the food before swallow.

Speak - He doesn't talk much, because...... LAZINESS. Been trying to summarize all the word he said, it's more than 50! So I quite lazy to list down all here as well ^,^ As long as he can tell what so ever he wants, he needs in life, I found really easy to take care of this 19 months toddler.

Colour - He knows Blue, yellow, green, red, purple, black & can speak very well - BLUE.

Helper - He always my GOOD HELPER! Now he even knows how to wash / shower for himself. He will press some soap, apply on his tummy, start to rub from tummy, arms, leg and face. After shower, I will pass him the towel, he will clean his hair, face, arms, tummy and legs all by himself. Hehehe... I will be very easy soon. ^_^

Alphabet - He knows his alphabet from A-Z. He likes A & O the most. He can speak well for A, E, F, G, H, I, J, L, M, N, O, R, X & Z. That's all. Watch the video below on how he passed me all the alphabet I mentioned to him. But he look & was lazy that time. Hahaha....

First Drawing

My little boy start to play with pencil since 16 months if not mistaken. I didn't teach him the proper way to hold the pencil or which hand he should use to write. As I think he is too young to learn to write.

I remember that I read an article before about the physical development of baby finger. Their little fingers are not well developed before 3 years old. If we force them to hold anything in certain way will affect them to grow in a natural way.

Even though I didn't teach him properly, he likes to mimic what we are doing everyday. I draw for him, let him to recognize the drawing, eg. apple, cat, flower, elephant, umbrella, bird...... ehem... my drawing very bad, some time even my hubby can't recognize my drawing ^,^ hahaha...

On last Saturday, I was doing house work and he was playing with the drawing board by himself. He called out "mama..." & showed me the board with hand sign "apple" My little boy drew an APPLE! Although it was by coincidense, but I am so happy with my little boy. At least he knew he had successfully drew an apple and showed it to mommy, it's an apple.

Sleep Zzzzzzzz......

Another sweet night I had for last night

My little boy sleeps in his room, in a single bed since early October, before he turn 16 months. I used to pat my little boy to sleep. Been months I haven't do that, as I am trying to make him more independent. Sleep by himself. He make it! Yet, he will call mommy once a while to make sure mommy is with him in the room.

Poor boy, he was so tired and took a short nap in the car around 730pm last night, as he just slept for 1 hour in the afternoon. This made him hardly fall asleep when sleeping time, around 930pm. Tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Eventually, he called out "mama" for help. I laid my head beside the bed rail, so that his little can touched me. As this will help him to fall asleep by holding my hands or touching any part of me.

Out of my surprise, he patted on my cheek gently. The rhythm was like I patted him to sleep. Slowly, gently... He fell asleep, I slowly moved away my head as my neck was tiring hanging there. =p...

Anyway, this was too SWEET!

The MAN of the house

My little boy no longer a boy now. He is one of the MAN in our home!

  • He helps mommy to chase away the lizard in the bathroom by using the hose, spraying water to the lizard.
  • He helps mommy to kill mosquito
  • He helps mommy to kill ants by stamping his feet continuously
  • He helps mommy to kill the insects.

The incident happened on last week, when I was having my dinner at the dining table. My little boy was playing with his new car. I didn't bother him when he called me for the first time. Thought of he was trying to call for fun. Then, called again, follow by pulling 2 pieces of toilet paper from the roll on the sofa and kept wipping the floor in front of his car.

I think must be something there. So I brought along my handphone, turned on to record what was happening. My boy saw an insects right in front of his car and he was trying to pull the toilet paper to wipe off the insect!

*I don't know what the insect was.

I was so surprise to see his action! He understood that he needs to take the toilet paper to kill the insect! From this, I learnt the lesson that our toddlers are monitoring US every now and then. They just follow what we do.

Parents, we need to be well behave in order to be the GOOD model for our next generation.

And do not blame your kids of their bad attitude, eg. talk rude, manners. Do parents realise that they speak the same way as their kids?

My Stunt Boy

By the time my Gynae told me that my baby is a BOY, I have expected he will show me these.... Enjoy the photo of my stunt boy below ^_^

This was what happened yesterday. No sign of scare from his face, but CHEEKY! ~.~

Below photos are taken on his 11 months. Climbed up on his feeding chair and LAUGH happily! He just manage to stand that time!

Lift up his hand to show he has a good balancing skill ~.~
BOYS....

5th Tooth

The 5th tooth popped on the 12th November; 1 year, 4 months, 3 weeks & 3 days!

Spare some time to take some photos for his 5th teeth yesterday morning. He was co-operating whole photo shooting session, posed whatever mommy requested. ^_^

Smile ^_^
Smile & show mommy your teeth ^_^
Smile and look at the fan ^_^

That's why I am so enjoy during weekends & holidays. My boy & I really have a wonderful day! I think my little boy understand that mommy is not working and will spend the day with him. That's why he is so HAPPIE. I am happy because of his happiness.

Attended First Wedding Dinner

Tonight is the first time 3 of us attended wedding dinner. I really happy with my little boy as he was "WELL BEHAVE" all night ^_^

It was a pool side, buffet dinner, with a small stage in front. This is the first time I attend this style of wedding dinner. But it really HOT! I sweat a LOT! Dress up so nice for the dinner, ended up sweating! And the food... Eeeee... My hubby is not the choosy type felt the same as well. Even my little boy acted "VOMIT" when I fed him the scrambled eggs. Haha... He just like me -> picky eater =p...

I din request for baby chair for my little boy, so I just let him sat on our chair. Before the dinner began, my little boy started to said "mum mum" =p... My little boy was so hungry. Hubby went to take the food for us, while both of us just enjoying. Thanks Hubby.

My little boy sat on the chair, opened his mouth wide when I fed him, choosed the food he wanted to eat. He loves the soup so much and kept saying "more! more! more!" loudly. I was quite embarassed and dare not to look around. I think a lot of peoples there knew he likes the soup. muahahaha....

We left around 930pm and it started to rain after we got into our car. Luckily we didn't stay any longer.

After this trial, I will attend any wedding from now on! As my little boy was well behave, listen to mommy, didn't fussy at all even he was quite tired and sleepy by the time we going to left.

No photo taken for the wedding tonight =( So dark and narrow on the space. Can't even walk.

"Mommy, don't lie to me, I understand what you said"

Was trying to distract my little boy to finish his dinner instead of following his daddy for shower. It seems not working to him now, as he understood what I said. Here we begin:-

We were standing in front of "slihgtly closed" bedroom door side.
Mommy: Let's finish your apple oats first, after that we take shower.
My boy: "NO" + hand sign "carry"
Mommy: Mommy can't carry you, I'm holding the bowl.
My boy: hand sign "carry" & hand sign "please"
Mommy: okay, we go and put down the bowl on the coffee table, so that mommy can carry baobei.
My boy hold my hand walk to the coffee table, ask me to put down the bowl, then he hold my hand walk back to the bedroom door.
My boy: hand sign "carry" & hand sign "please"
Mommy: *chuckles* as I was trying to distract him walk to the living & forgot about shower. okay. I failed to distract him.
Mommy: Oh, daddy lock the door, we can't go in. (Prentending to open the knob).
My boy: look at mommy in doubt glance. His face made me felt like he was telling me
"Mommy, don't lie to me again" And used his hands to push the door hardly! It's open!

I was hugging my boy tightly & can't stop myself laughing.

Hubby had finished his shower and looking at us wondering what was happened to his wife non stop laughing carrying her little boy.

Share with you all about his dinner last night --> Apple Oats

Recipe: 1 scoop oats + 1 apple + 1 cup of water.
Method: Boild the water with oats till soft, add in apple, which is finely chopped and cook for 1 minute.

My little boy loves this "apple oats" since 8 months+.

Some of day, when I lazy to cook, I just "ta bao" economy rice and share with him of my dinner. Even my little boy has merely 4 teeth, but he chews well and able to eat rice since he was 14 months+.

Look at his photo beside, he was proudly showing off his teeth. He will pose when his mommy require him to "show mommy your teeth" ^_^

开心地散步 ^_^

“Life Is Like A Cup of Coffee”

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of COFFEE and an assortment of cups; porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal; some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite.

He told his guests to help themselves to the coffee.

After everyone had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:

“If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress."

Be assured that the cup adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it just more expensive, and in some cases, even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was COFFEE, not the cup.

But you consciously went for the best cups…….

And then, you began eyeing each other’s cups to see who had the best one.

Now consider this;

Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain LIFE

And the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee.

Savor the coffee, not the cups!

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything.

They just make the best of everything.

Life simply.

Speak kindly.

Care deeply.

Love generously.
