Just the 2 of us

No matter how busy am I today, I must jolt down everything happened last night. It was a wonderful night for me!

~ Just the 2 of us ~ Not my boy & Barney but my boy and I. As hubby had a conference call in the office and will back home late.

When we were home, I heat up the corn + potato soup for my boy, while he was playing with the floor mat. I managed to heat up the soup and mashed the potato without him, disturbing around the kitchen. What’s so fascinate about the floor mat?! Hehe… my boy likes to take out the alphabet and put back, and keep repeating this. Last Thursday, I noticed that he is able to put in the “N” all by himself.

I think this is one of his growth developments as well. Below is the only video I recorded while he was playing with the floor mat. This active boy can spend more than half an hour with the floor mat alone. By sitting there quietly, take out the small pieces/parts and put them in, keep repeating this again, again & again... By jolting down his growth milestones, he is able to put back exactly & nicely for a round shape, square shape, rectangular shape, alphabet "O" & alphabet "N".

Then, I fed my boy with the warm soup and potato WITHOUT ANY FUSS. He sat in his walker; drank the soup from the cup with my help, automatically opened his mouth whenever I fed him the potato! Wow… my boy was behave so well for his dinner and finished a small cup of soup and almost a potato! Wondering why is it "small CUP of soup"? Hehe… My cheeky boy just prefers to drink from a cup, even soup I have to feed in a cup instead of spoon feeding. AND… He doesn’t like to feed by SPOON.

After his dinner, it was my turn, just as a MPSP, finished all the leftover (Potatoes, Pork, Corns) of the soup. Bryan opened his toys box, took out his toys and played himself. Babbling every now and then, as usual. Stacking again! Haha…… Maybe you will be interested to watch him stacking with the plastic cups below. He likes stacking game since he was 8 months and able to put in the ring stacker when he was 8 months+. Check out his clip of playing with his colorful ring stacker here.

Shower time! Before bathing, Bryan has to keep all his toys, definitely I will help him. He always a good helper at this moments, at this moment! My little boy followed his mommy’s order by helping to keep all his toys; put back all the blocks into the box; pick up his basket ball, football & rainbow ball all over the living room back into the box; put back all the alphabet accordingly. Then, he walked into our bedroom for bathing.

Took off his shirt and required him to put his dirty shirt into the laundry basket; he followed!

Took off his napkin and asked him to wee before bathing; he followed!

Turn on the shower, he requested for shower foam by opening his palm, then washed his little hands by himself while I busy washing his neck, back, butt, legs & arms.

Took a handkerchief to wipe clean his face and clean his gum and his only tooth, he opened his mouth wide for me. Good Boy!

Then, I put him in his tub while I quickly took a shower. My boy played with the cups again, filled the cup with water and poured out, squeezed those bath animals one by one, took them in & out from the cup as well.

Lay on the bed quietly for me to put on the ointment cream, put on his diaper & night gown.

Then, I asked him to help turning on the radio in order for me to clean the bathroom. Hehe… I know I shouldn’t let him play with all those electric stuff, but I just thought of the power was off, should be fine. BUT………… I heard music while I washing the bathroom, peek out from the bathroom, my son was sitting in front of the radio, both hand covering his ears. ^.^|||

HE KNOWS HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER AND PRESS PLAY BUTTON! Is it good or bad?!?!?! ^o^

Reading time! Flipping his book as usual, showed him the flash card etc. Suddenly, my little one use his little index finger pointing the stool beside the bed as he realized that mommy’s mobile was there. So I showed him some of his video clips in my mobile. He loves watching his own video!

After watching a few clips, I turn on the song –寶貝 from張懸. The lyrics keep singing寶貝, 寶貝, 寶貝 (bao bei) and my boy keep patting his chest! He was showing that “I am Bao Bei!” Muahahaha……. I always call him Bao Bei instead of his name, so “BAO BEI” is referring him as well. My Lovely Bao Bei

Almost time to sleep, I thought of teaching him some hand sign before sleep, but my boy… keep signing “MILK” Watch the clip below. He is so cute when signing ^_^ Do not allow me to continue recording, he pounced to me for milk at the end of the clip.

This is the night when hubby was not in. My boy behaved so well, or I would say perfectly! No fuss when feeding, ate all the food I prepared for him, followed all my instruction, didn’t disturb mommy in the kitchen, kept his toys according, washed his hands himself……… I was so happie whole night; don’t even talk loud to him. Ya, he always make me shout at him, stop him from doing this and that. I knew that I should be patient, not to shout at him. But I think all mommies understood that we really cannot stop our loud voice sometime.

I hope my boy will act like yesterday from now on! Keep my fingers crossed!

Okay, about the video. I compiled some of Bryan walking video recorded by my mobile. He just confidence to walk by himself after his first birthday. Hold my finger to walk at first. Slowly from merely 2 steps to 3 steps the next day; 3 steps to 6 steps the next day, 6 steps to 12 steps the next day...... Should I END for my milk production? OR Shouldn’t I?

Initially, I received a lot of emails saying my blog is too MILKY, after my posting of Milk Production – Part I & Milk Production – Part II. So I have stopped till now…… Should I END for my milk production?

First, I will be happy & glad to say I successful to breastfeed my boy till now, more than 13 months. I bought the first tin of formula milk 2 weeks ago as too many friends & relatives advice me to change him to formula since he was 9 months. I think there is no harm for my boy to try on since I have fully breastfeed him for the past 12 months. So I request some samples from different brand of formula milk, in order to let my boy try on which flavor or brand that suit to him.

But my boy doesn’t like the taste of formula at all. He will push away the milk bottle and scream at me. I tried to spoon feed him with the formula milk, he will show me he wanna vomit. @_@

Then I tried to mix the formula milk in the rice cereal for him, he PUKED. The milk of the meal before was out! Then he refused to take in any cereal. Then I tried to get some advice from experience mommy on how am I going to change him from breastmilk to formula. Most of the answers from them are “Why should I change since the supply is enough and he doesn’t like the formula”.

So I continue to breastfeed him at home, but baby sitter tried to mix breastmilk with formula milk to let him try. So far I will try on all the food before it goes into my son, same goes to this formula. Definitely I familiar with the taste of breast milk, and I even drank a couple of oz before! Read here. The taste of formula is sweet, thick and strong taste of milk; breastmilk is sweet too, not so thick… Errr… I can say more like diluted formula milk.

But…………………………..

When I picked up my boy after working this evening, baby sitter told me that

he willing to drink the formula itself and next week onwards I no need to pass her any of the breastmilk anymore!

I thought that I will be happy when my son willing to accept formula milk. But… but… I felt… felt a bit “sour” in my heart T_T

Is that means I no need to nurse him anymore? I will miss the time we spend together when I nurse him. My boy will look at me when I nurse him, one hand holding his bolster or holding his leg, playing with his toe or use his little index finger pointing in the air…. Or draw on my tummy… Or use his little index finger to poke my eyes, my nose, my teeth… When he was tired, he will just laid down in my arms and enjoy his milk… My boy quite greedy (maybe I should say he just cheeky), he will always think the other one is taste better and will change himself to the other breast for milk. It is all GREAT moments for me and my son. Both of us are SO ENJOY during the nursing!

But… do I need to stop? My freezer still got around 28 bottles, I think I need to start feeding him all the expressed breastmilk in the freezer as I no need to pass to baby sitter anymore.

I will not END my breastfeeding but I will start to reduce my milk production by expressing breastmilk once a day during working day.

My dear Bryan, mommy will nurse you whenever you need it!

Baby Hand Sign

After I post up my son 13 months development, been receiving some email regarding baby hand sign. Herewith the video I took few weeks ago, my son is able to sign milk, cheese, sleep, please, thank you, book, toothbrush (brushing), baby, eat, water, lion and again.

Baby sign language is a method in which you and your infant (or toddler) use specific handsign and motions to convey words and meaning (quickly and easily) with each other. These exact handsign and motions are executed typically using American Sign Language.

This special type of communication significantly reduces frustration for your darling little one.

Most babies can hear but do not yet have the physical ability to speak more than a few words, if any. Since speech is formed through the use of trained vocal chords, most babies can only form basic sounds. Communication is difficult (at first) and is usually made up of unintelligible noises and hand gestures. When frustrated, communication dissolves into crying, whining and sometimes tantrums. When Baby is frustrated, so are Mommy and Daddy. So, baby handsign reduce frustration for parents and care takers.

My son will show his handsign of milk to aunty (baby sitter) whenever he needs. If he does not drink enough, he will request for more milk. Isn't that GREAT?! Hahaha... I LOVE BABY HAND SIGN ^_^

Again, if you following my blog and complaining not much update recently, maybe you can subscribe my youtube account here. There are all his video there and all are up to date. ^_^

How I spend my ♥Lunch Hour♥

Lunch hour definitely is for us to have our lunch! And do some shopping in a shopping mall nearby on Friday as there is half an hour more. ^_^

As a mommy, I have to sacrifice my lunch hour for my little one.

Before my son start solid food, I will visit him during lunch hour, at least once a week. Cause my heart, my soul is with him. I miss him Sooooooo Sooooo Muchhhhh..... Yet, I seldom do it now as I need to do some shopping for him during lunch hour for some fresh fish, fresh vegetables, fruits, drumsticks.......

Today, I left my office on time and rushed to Jusco! To avoid spending too much time for my lunch, I just order a "sweet & sour fish + rice" at the food court. I will give it 1 out of 10. Small portion, just 4-5 pieces of tiny fish fillet, taste of the sauce like tomato sauce + vinegar......
Overall the taste...... Eeeyaakkk.... I can cook much much better than that! Just swallow everything in 5 minutes and I will NEVER EVER go back to that stall again!

To forget about the awful lunch, I bought my favourite Maccha Top Green Tea ice cream from Hokkaido! Hmmm.... Yummy Yummy....

Then I heading to buy cod fish, miso shiro, snow butter spread, sterilizing tablets etc.

After all, pay my parking ticket, rush back to office. I able to make all this within 1 hour. This is how I spend my lunch hour most of the time! I willing to do all this for my son cause I love him ^_^
*Sorry if you feel goosebumps reading the last sentence =p...

13 months Development

Miss out my boy monthly development for months. Sorry my dear...... Just a quick summary here!

He can walk by himself now.

He is expert in ring stacker! The reason I said he is expert is because he able to put in all the ring stacker in his 8 months! Watch the video clips below ^_^ After 9 months, he is able to put in all the ring stacker in the correct order!
After that, he seems to be bored with his lovely ring stacker and started to play with other toys now.

I found out he likes to play stacker & blocks. Below is his first masterpiece in the mega blocks. I didn't help him at all! He made it all by himself, right after his first birthday. The blocks is one of the present from my husband's sister-in-law!

He has a good hand-eye coordination, where he can catch a ball and throw back; put anything in and out from a box or cup; tap the stick; put back the lid etc.....

He played well with basket ball too ^_^

Beside all these hand-eye coordination development, he rides well on his tricycle bought from baby sitter for his first birthday as well.

Bryan is my good helper as well. He will put back all his toys into the box after playtime.

Bryan able to tell where is our house on his 11 months. ?????????????????????

Hehehe... Not expert as what you are thinking okay =) We are staying in an apartment of 14th floor. He is able to shake his head by showing "no" when we are not in 14th floor and say "ahhh" when we are in 14th floor. Don't believe me?!?! Watch the video clip below!

Bryan loves playing in the playground with the carousel, horse riding etc since he was 8 months. Sorry that I didn't know what is the name of all these kinda game :p... just enjoy the one of the video below!

I teach him hand signing as well. By now, he is able to show me milk, cheese, sleep, please, thank you, eat, water, book, lion, again. So sorry to tell is I have limited knowledge on hand signing and that's what I can teach him.

My dear Bryan, Mommy will learn more hand sign in order to teach you. And I know you are eager to learn from mommy.

These are all the development milestone I can remember at this moment and I gotta back to work right now :p...

If you are interested with Bryan cuteness, maybe you can subscribe my youtube account here. There are all his video there ^_^

Quiet....

Sorry sorry sorry… I know that I have been quiet for a loooooooooonggggggggg time… Same, busy with my work!

Wondering should I quit my job to be full time mommy for my lil one?!?! But……… $$$$$$....... So I am continuing with my job now and pile of works waiting for me to complete. But my heart is with Bryan every second now and then.

Herewith his latest photo, which was taken yesterday. He will have his "cheese" at the pool side every weekend morning.

Or... maybe you will like to watch his video here.
