Sleep Zzzzzzzz......

Another sweet night I had for last night

My little boy sleeps in his room, in a single bed since early October, before he turn 16 months. I used to pat my little boy to sleep. Been months I haven't do that, as I am trying to make him more independent. Sleep by himself. He make it! Yet, he will call mommy once a while to make sure mommy is with him in the room.

Poor boy, he was so tired and took a short nap in the car around 730pm last night, as he just slept for 1 hour in the afternoon. This made him hardly fall asleep when sleeping time, around 930pm. Tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Eventually, he called out "mama" for help. I laid my head beside the bed rail, so that his little can touched me. As this will help him to fall asleep by holding my hands or touching any part of me.

Out of my surprise, he patted on my cheek gently. The rhythm was like I patted him to sleep. Slowly, gently... He fell asleep, I slowly moved away my head as my neck was tiring hanging there. =p...

Anyway, this was too SWEET!

The MAN of the house

My little boy no longer a boy now. He is one of the MAN in our home!

  • He helps mommy to chase away the lizard in the bathroom by using the hose, spraying water to the lizard.
  • He helps mommy to kill mosquito
  • He helps mommy to kill ants by stamping his feet continuously
  • He helps mommy to kill the insects.

The incident happened on last week, when I was having my dinner at the dining table. My little boy was playing with his new car. I didn't bother him when he called me for the first time. Thought of he was trying to call for fun. Then, called again, follow by pulling 2 pieces of toilet paper from the roll on the sofa and kept wipping the floor in front of his car.

I think must be something there. So I brought along my handphone, turned on to record what was happening. My boy saw an insects right in front of his car and he was trying to pull the toilet paper to wipe off the insect!

*I don't know what the insect was.

I was so surprise to see his action! He understood that he needs to take the toilet paper to kill the insect! From this, I learnt the lesson that our toddlers are monitoring US every now and then. They just follow what we do.

Parents, we need to be well behave in order to be the GOOD model for our next generation.

And do not blame your kids of their bad attitude, eg. talk rude, manners. Do parents realise that they speak the same way as their kids?

My Stunt Boy

By the time my Gynae told me that my baby is a BOY, I have expected he will show me these.... Enjoy the photo of my stunt boy below ^_^

This was what happened yesterday. No sign of scare from his face, but CHEEKY! ~.~

Below photos are taken on his 11 months. Climbed up on his feeding chair and LAUGH happily! He just manage to stand that time!

Lift up his hand to show he has a good balancing skill ~.~
BOYS....

5th Tooth

The 5th tooth popped on the 12th November; 1 year, 4 months, 3 weeks & 3 days!

Spare some time to take some photos for his 5th teeth yesterday morning. He was co-operating whole photo shooting session, posed whatever mommy requested. ^_^

Smile ^_^
Smile & show mommy your teeth ^_^
Smile and look at the fan ^_^

That's why I am so enjoy during weekends & holidays. My boy & I really have a wonderful day! I think my little boy understand that mommy is not working and will spend the day with him. That's why he is so HAPPIE. I am happy because of his happiness.

Attended First Wedding Dinner

Tonight is the first time 3 of us attended wedding dinner. I really happy with my little boy as he was "WELL BEHAVE" all night ^_^

It was a pool side, buffet dinner, with a small stage in front. This is the first time I attend this style of wedding dinner. But it really HOT! I sweat a LOT! Dress up so nice for the dinner, ended up sweating! And the food... Eeeee... My hubby is not the choosy type felt the same as well. Even my little boy acted "VOMIT" when I fed him the scrambled eggs. Haha... He just like me -> picky eater =p...

I din request for baby chair for my little boy, so I just let him sat on our chair. Before the dinner began, my little boy started to said "mum mum" =p... My little boy was so hungry. Hubby went to take the food for us, while both of us just enjoying. Thanks Hubby.

My little boy sat on the chair, opened his mouth wide when I fed him, choosed the food he wanted to eat. He loves the soup so much and kept saying "more! more! more!" loudly. I was quite embarassed and dare not to look around. I think a lot of peoples there knew he likes the soup. muahahaha....

We left around 930pm and it started to rain after we got into our car. Luckily we didn't stay any longer.

After this trial, I will attend any wedding from now on! As my little boy was well behave, listen to mommy, didn't fussy at all even he was quite tired and sleepy by the time we going to left.

No photo taken for the wedding tonight =( So dark and narrow on the space. Can't even walk.

"Mommy, don't lie to me, I understand what you said"

Was trying to distract my little boy to finish his dinner instead of following his daddy for shower. It seems not working to him now, as he understood what I said. Here we begin:-

We were standing in front of "slihgtly closed" bedroom door side.
Mommy: Let's finish your apple oats first, after that we take shower.
My boy: "NO" + hand sign "carry"
Mommy: Mommy can't carry you, I'm holding the bowl.
My boy: hand sign "carry" & hand sign "please"
Mommy: okay, we go and put down the bowl on the coffee table, so that mommy can carry baobei.
My boy hold my hand walk to the coffee table, ask me to put down the bowl, then he hold my hand walk back to the bedroom door.
My boy: hand sign "carry" & hand sign "please"
Mommy: *chuckles* as I was trying to distract him walk to the living & forgot about shower. okay. I failed to distract him.
Mommy: Oh, daddy lock the door, we can't go in. (Prentending to open the knob).
My boy: look at mommy in doubt glance. His face made me felt like he was telling me
"Mommy, don't lie to me again" And used his hands to push the door hardly! It's open!

I was hugging my boy tightly & can't stop myself laughing.

Hubby had finished his shower and looking at us wondering what was happened to his wife non stop laughing carrying her little boy.

Share with you all about his dinner last night --> Apple Oats

Recipe: 1 scoop oats + 1 apple + 1 cup of water.
Method: Boild the water with oats till soft, add in apple, which is finely chopped and cook for 1 minute.

My little boy loves this "apple oats" since 8 months+.

Some of day, when I lazy to cook, I just "ta bao" economy rice and share with him of my dinner. Even my little boy has merely 4 teeth, but he chews well and able to eat rice since he was 14 months+.

Look at his photo beside, he was proudly showing off his teeth. He will pose when his mommy require him to "show mommy your teeth" ^_^

“Life Is Like A Cup of Coffee”

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of COFFEE and an assortment of cups; porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal; some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite.

He told his guests to help themselves to the coffee.

After everyone had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:

“If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups have been taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress."

Be assured that the cup adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it just more expensive, and in some cases, even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was COFFEE, not the cup.

But you consciously went for the best cups…….

And then, you began eyeing each other’s cups to see who had the best one.

Now consider this;

Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain LIFE

And the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee.

Savor the coffee, not the cups!

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything.

They just make the best of everything.

Life simply.

Speak kindly.

Care deeply.

Love generously.

Dazzling Morning

It is a sunny day today and a sunny morning.

As usual, I was driving while my boy was enjoying his bread in his car seat on our way to baby sitter's house.

All the way I was thinking about my work while I was driving. By chance, stopped at the traffic light, I turned and looked at my little boy. I saw him -> right hand closing his eyes, while left hand holding his bread, eating.

Hahahaha........ ^o^

This recall me that I used to ask my little boy to use his hands to cover up his eyes when the bright sunlight shine into the car since a few months back.

Why a few months back??? No longer now??? Mommy quite careless now. Forgotten sometime =p...

As he just learnt to do that "a few months back" (I think was before 1 years old, let me check my diary on the date). Whenever the sunlight shines into our car, I will ask him to do that to protect his eyes.

Now he will do it all by himself without mommy nagging. ^_^

Feel that my little boy has grown up now; he understood whatever we told him; he knows how to choose the food he wants to eat; he knows how to tell what he wants to do; he knows what is mommy face expression meant to him.
He seems to know everything!

Last Saturday, I was not feeling well and laid on the sofa feeding him breakfast & watching cartoon on the TV. My little boy came to me, showed me the hand sign of "bathe". I looked at the time. Oh, it's time to take shower for my little boy! He knows how to remind mommy that its time to take bathe for him!

I am soooo glad to have my little boy "understandable" even just 16 months old.

I LOVE YOU my little Bao Bei ^_^

My Eye Serum!!!!!

Half bottle of my eye serum was applied on my little cheeky boy thigh last night!!!!!

Just my little boy with me were at home last night. He was reading flipping his books, flashcards etc while I was bathing. After bathing, he will pass me my skin care one by one according to the sequence I told him. When I have finished, my little boy showed me hand sign for "milk". So I straight away heading to kitchen check on the expressed breastmilk that I put in warmer, WITHOUT keeping my skin care!

When I back to bedroom, I saw my little boy still sitting on my bed, with his back facing the entrance I can't see what was he doing. I went nearer, this little fella, left hand holding my eye serum, right index finger was dipping inside the bottle and applied on his thigh slowly!

"W-H-A-T A-R-E Y-O-U D-O-I-N-G?"

Again, he looked at me with his "innocent face"! This little cheeky fella manage to twist open the bottle. Luckily he didn't pour out, but use his little index finger, if not whole bottle of eye serum GONE!!!

I was so SAD, really SAD, sat on the bed, looking at the bottle. I didn't scold him but pretended to cry! He was STUNNED to see mommy crying! This is the first time he see mommy cry! After a while, he started to frown, moved closer to me, hold both of my hands, which were covering my eyes (I was pretending to cry with hand clearing the tears ma =p....) & KISS ME, KISS AGAIN & AGAIN.

I can't pretend anymore and started to smile back to him. He SMILE & HUG me tight! Then I started to tell him that he can not open all my skin care, can't play with them.

Aih...... What to do? Already wasted. Hope he will understood what mommy told him last night loh.

Regarding the eye serum, I just bought it last Saturday =( Went to KL 2 weeks ago, my sister advice me shall start to apply eye serum to prevent wrinkles. I seldom spend much on skin care, I use whatever brand that can be bought from Jusco or Tesco. This is the first eye serum I bought and cost me RM 138 with only 30gm. Ended up, half was on my little boy thigh and washed away by mommy.

One more to mention here, this little cheeky boy is good in opening any lid, mineral water, milk bottle, emulsion etc. He is VERY GOOD in twisting!

Mommy is ANGRY!

Hubby had to back office for a conference call last night, so I quickly took my shower before he left. He was playing with my little boy while I was bathing. After shower, my little boy showed the hand sign of "book". So we remain in my bedroom reading.

After a while, he showed the hand sign of "milk". So I heading kitchen to warm up the expressed breastmilk for him. I saw a breastmilk bottle on the dining floor, another in my little boy's bedroom, with all the lid scattered.

Here started our conversation:-

Mommy Psedornna: "Why you play with the breastmilk bottle?"
My little boy: *showed his innocent face* & said "papa"
Mommy Psedornna: "Papa gave you the bottle?"
My little boy: *hand sign - YES*
Mommy Psedornna: "Why you didn't keep all the bottles after play?"
My little boy: *hand sign - SORRY*
Mommy Psedornna: *chuckle, he automatically say sorry to mommy* "pick up all the bottles & lid and pass to mommy!"
My little boy: *stunned*
Mommy Psedornna: "mommy is angry if you do not pick up all the bottles & lid and pass to mommy!"
My little boy: started picking up bottles & lids in the dining area & bedroom and passed to mommy
Mommy Psedornna: *chuckle* *chuckle* *chuckle*
My little boy: "mama" when passed me the last lid.
Mommy Psedornna: "thanks my dear, that's mommy good boy by keeping all the things after played."
My little boy: *hand sign - MILK*
Mommy Psedornna: "your milk is ready, let's go into your room."
My little boy: *hold my hand and walk into his bedroom, climbed up to his single-bed, got his pillow and bolster in position, laid down and drink his milk.

First of all, I would say, I am glad that my little boy "understood" what we told him and he will follow our instruction to do so.
Second is, I don't think he will pick up the bottle but start to fuss / whine if I didn't say "Mommy is angry"

* The photo is my little boy expression of - innocent. He will show this face expression to me when he knew that he did something wrong / bad*

16th Months Development - Part III

Hahaha.... Never ending of the 16th months development ^_^

Just wanna share with you all a little bit more about my little cheeky boy growth development.

My little boy is more independent now. He can do most of the things by himself now.

  • He eats by himself; SOME TIME. Even though quite messy, still need the help from us most of the time, but I can say he improved a lot compare to previous months.
  • He sleeps in his room; no longer co-sleeping with mommy but alone on the single bed in his room. But mommy still worries a lot, sleep on the floor beside his single bed after he asleep.
  • He drinks from bottle; I have no longer nursing him since 3 week back, but let him drink from the bottle. Started to drink milk powder once a day and I still pumping breastmilk everyday but slowly reduce the amount every day now.
Been a long long time didn't see my little boy holding the bottle & drink the milk by himself. Recalled me one of his video on his 4th months, early in the morning, my hungry boy grab the milk bottle from me. ^_^ watch the video here.

  • He is mommy GOOD HELPER; watch his video here & here. I knew that I have been repeating this for months. Haha... Indeed he is really my good helper so far. Not only does his part but help on mommy house chores. Been trying to jolt down all the things he helps me, but seems to be a LOnGgggg list. Argh..... Forget about it. Anyway, he helps me a lot ^_^ (lazy mommy)
  • He is expert in pincer grasp; He used his index finger & thumb wisely since 7 months. Watch the video below where he used his pincer grasp to take the biscuit from me ^_^

  • He eats cheerios by himself; I will put some cheerios in a bowl and he will enjoy the cheerios in front of the TV of his favourite Barney show.
This little boy was holding his bowl with cheerios, walking toward to the sofa. Carelessly, he found that he dropped one of the cheerios on the floor. ^_^

  • He follows my instruction; He will help mommy to complete some simple task when I requested. I think this is the stage of toddlers. I utilize his curiosity to help me to do my task as I knew that he will be lazy to do it when he grows up later.
  • He goes toilet himself; Well, he is a boy, we train him to poo in the potty but wee by standing in the washroom. We are not expecting him to wee into the toilet bowl. Too HIGH for him now =p... After all, he will spray his urine by himself. Ya, we knew he likes to play with water. This is just because he is playful, not purposely wash /spray away his urine. For me, as long as he willing to do that, I am happy. Hahaha...

Look at his face emotion! He uses a lot of strength to spray out the water! Not easy for him ler! ^_^ cute face expression! I quickly took my camera to snap, but have to zoom in for my camera "safety". It is not waterproof ^o^

Neighbour

Herewith some photos of our neighbour with baby around my little boy age. Of course there are more than I know. But... Mommy is too SHY to talk to them. Thought of the opportunity comes when my boy started to walk. Thought of my little boy will start to approach those toddlers, so that mommy can start a conversation with them.

Yet, this little boy just SHY like mommy. Whoever new to him, he will just stunned there, dare not to step forward. Ended up, just three neighbours here.

It's fate that I quite close with the little girl's mommy; the 2 photo on below. She was born 1 day after my little boy in a same hospital ^_^ Both of us speak cantonese, which make me feel closer with her. She is very nice & friendly. No doubt she is a good mommy! She will bring her little princess walk around the swimming every Saturday & Sunday! No missed at all! My little boy likes her and don't feel SHY to walk toward her, shake hands with her and hugs her!

While the little boy of the photo on the right with the kiddy motor bike is a Vietnamese. Due to his father is working in here, they stay here since 2 years ago. He is exclusive breastfeeding! Maybe is about breastfeeding, we got more topic to talk. ^_^

While the handsome boy of the photo on top was taken a few months back. His daddy from UK, mommy is Malaysian Indian. He is so handsome and the eyes are so adorable! Just met him once while their parents were back to Malaysia for a 2 weeks of holiday.

I really hope that I can overcome my shyness and get to know them more. As I know their toddlers are about my son age. I do hope my little boy has more friends & neighbours to play with when he grows up. SAD to look at his loneliness.

Active Toddler

My little boy was SOOooo ACTIVE for the past 2 nights!

His used to sleep around 915pm, but 30 minutes delay for the past 2 nights! What was he doing? Walking around the house, flipping his books, ask mommy to read for him, took out the flash card & showed mommy his hand sign on the animals etc......

Till he really tired and dozed off in less than 5 minutes after he laid down on his bed!

My dear Bryan,

Mommy is glad that you are growing up healthy & active!
Mommy will dance & hop together with you whenever you want.
Your activeness showed that you are healthy and happy!
Your activeness alert mommy that its time for me to do some exercises with you to burn my fat.
Mommy allow you to play around even over the sleeping time.
Hope that you will dozed off & sleep soundly over the night.

~~~LOVE U~~~
Apple Lover
My little cheeky boy was superb LOVELY last night ^_^ Again. Yes, again! After he kissed early in the morning & while I read for him.
Story began when my little boy asked for "apple" after his dinner last night. As I mentioned in previous post, my little can "talk" well using baby hand sign before he can "talk". He walked into the kitchen, showing me the hand sign for "apple". I took an apple out from the basket, passed him a bowl, which he will placed it on the coffee table. Then, he stood beside me waiting for me to peel off the apple. He can finished a quarter of an apple!
After he was satisfied with the apple, he took a quarter of an apple & fed me! His little finger hold tight with the apple, fed me one bite after another! My little boy so SWEET!
These photo taken when he was 10 months, craved for APPLE after his cereal.
He likes apples since he was 10 months, even though he didn't has any teeth that time.
In fact, I did have a interesting story board with those photo in FB. Overall was he asking for apple. He understood the word "apple" when he was 10 months & love bitting the apple with his gum. YA, gum! cause his first tooth was popped out on his 13 months.
Just notice that I dare to take off his napkin when he was 10 months. Look clearly on those photo, he was wearing a pants instead!
Look at his face expression with the apple!
My little boy is an APPLE LOVER!
16th Months Development - Part II
Yeah! My boy is 16th months TODAY! Happy 16th months my little cheeky boy! So happy that I am breastfeeding him for 16 months as well.
Hmm.... Besides all the development in part I, wondering what can I post in part II here. Mmm....
Potty Train
I am glad to say that my little boy is diaper off during the day time since he was 14 months! Baby sitter is confidence to let him wear pant since 13 months, while he can walk by himself.
Yet, I am not that confidence to do so as I worry he will wet my sofa =p... This little boy will not wee untill we bring him to the toilet. Then I started to trust him on his 14th months, by letting him put on the pants during day time.
Surprisingly, he can tell whenever he wanna wee or poo! All thanks to the baby hand sign that I taught him so far.
Night time, we prefer he wee on the diaper, in order to let him sleep more. He will awake and ask for wee, but we will tell him to wee on the diaper. Am I right? or should I bring him to toilet?
The photo taken while my little boy was brushing his teeth and doing his BIG business. =p...
This little cheeky boy sign to me that he wanna poo while he was brushing his teeth.
Ended up...... I named it Multitasking ^_^
Teeth Brushing
As I mentioned in part I, my little boy merely has 4 teeth in his 16th months, but started to brush his teeth on 14th months.
I understood that we shouldn't brush their little tiny teeth too early. My little boy keep asking for toothbrush (he request it by hand signing) to brush his teeth since he was 13 months. As he is watching his mommy brushing her teeth every morning!
So I bought the Pigeon training toothbrush lesson 1 for him. He is so enjoying bitting brushing his teeth since then and he definately will ask for his toothbrush to brush his teeth every morning and during night bathe, before he sleep.
Some of my friends amazed on him cause willing to use toothbrush on his early stage. Telling me that most of the toddlers refuse to open their mouth, refuse to use the tooth brush, throw away the toothbrush etc. My advice to them is simple, just brush your teeth together with your toddlers!
Toddlers at this stage like to imitate adults! Whatever we do, they will follow! Try this and share with me your experience ^_^
Baby Hand Sign
I really glad that I learnt baby hand sign and started to teach my little boy baby hand sign since he was 5 months. I sign to him every thing I knew! He started to response to my hand sign in his 10th months, where his first sign to me was "light". Whenever, wherever he see lights, he will sign "light" showed to us, there is the "light".
This seems to be meaningless to you. Hahaha... Continue reading... you will know the advantages of baby hand signing ^_^
By 16th months, my little boy able to sign more than 30 hand signs, able to tell what he needs and what he want to do before he really can speak well in words! Because of baby hand signing, he is well potty train in his 14th months. As he knows that he can tell what he wants, and we understand and we give him whatever he needs by using baby hand sign!
Isn't this GREAT?!?!
No fuss at all taking care of my little boy after his 10th months. He will learn all the baby hand sign I taught him and he will sign back to me whenever, wherever and whatever he needs!
The photo at the side is showing the hand sign for "milk" ^_^
